Oceania Continent Study
While Australia is a continent, I choose to use the term Oceania when we talk about this area of the World. Oceania covers the continent of Australia and the surrounding islands.
The start of the month we focus on a few broad facts about Australia/Oceania. We also talk about important places and unique plants and animals that can be found in these regions. For this, I am a huge fan of Montessori for Everyone's continent pdfs. They have 3-part cards for the animals, plants, and places. They also have ready made maps to use! We explore these works with the students before diving into the highlighted area for that month.
